A small group, a coach both directions, and an evening in Niagara that covers the boat, the tunnels behind the falls, a sit-down dinner over the water and the illumination, before dropping you back in the city the same night.
The whole evening is on the Canadian side, which matters more than most first-time visitors realise. Canada faces the Horseshoe Falls head-on. The American side gives you the edge of it and the better close-up decks; the Canadian side gives you the postcard. If you are only getting one look at Niagara, this is the angle to get it from.

Pickup and the Drive South
You meet the group centrally in Toronto and head down the QEW along the lake. It is roughly two hours, and in a small group it is a conversation rather than an endurance test. Your guide uses the time to explain what you are about to look at, which is more useful than it sounds once the noise starts.
The Niagara Whirlpool
The coach stops above the Whirlpool, where the river turns back on itself and runs class 6 rapids through the gorge. It is the best photograph of the day that is not of the falls themselves.
Hornblower Into the Basin
Down to the water and out toward the Horseshoe, where the boat holds position in the churn at the base. The spray comes down like weather and conversation stops working entirely. Ponchos are handed out and do a partial job. Seasonal, roughly April to November, and substituted when ice closes the river.
Journey Behind the Falls
A lift drops you through the bedrock and tunnels lead to portals that open directly behind the Horseshoe. You are looking at the back of the water sheet from a few metres away, which is a strange, loud, slightly unnerving thing to stand in front of. There is also an observation deck at the base. This one runs all year.
Sheraton Fallsview
Inside and dry, at a table with the falls in the window. The timing is deliberate: you eat while the daylight drains out, so you come back outside to a completely different view from the one you walked in on. Dietary requirements are passed to the kitchen in advance if you tell us when you book.
Clifton Hill and the Gardens
You get roughly three hours of your own at the falls. Most of it goes on Clifton Hill, the arcade and attraction strip running up from the Parkway, and on the gardens and floral displays laid out along the front.
Table Rock Welcome Centre
Table Rock puts you at the lip of the Horseshoe, where the river tips over a few metres from where you are standing and the mist comes back up at you.
Illumination, and Fireworks in Season
The floodlights come up and the falls run through a rotation of colour, which from the Canadian side you are watching head-on. On scheduled nights fireworks go up over the gorge as well. Then back on the coach for the drive to Toronto, arriving late.

The headline price is the Standard option, and the Standard option has no boat cruise, no Journey Behind the Falls and no dinner. It is the coach, the guide, the free time and the illumination. This tour begins and ends in Toronto, with roughly two hours of coach travel each way. The bus picks up at 20 Bay Street on the south-facing side: wait on Bay Street and look for the white Airlink Tours bus. Departure is 1:00 PM, and there is paid public parking nearby. There is no hotel pickup outside this meeting point.
Back at 20 Bay Street, at around 11:30 PM. It is a long day, so plan how you are getting home from there.

Fireworks run to a published seasonal schedule, mainly summer evenings and selected holidays, and can be postponed at short notice for weather. The illumination of the falls happens every night of the year regardless, so the evening holds up either way.
Every other evening tour we sell starts in Niagara Falls and stays on the American side. This one starts in Toronto and covers the Canadian side, which is where the head-on view of the Horseshoe Falls is. It is also the only one that combines a boat ride, the tunnels and a sit-down dinner in the same evening.
There is no border crossing, since Toronto and Niagara Falls, Ontario are both in Canada. Carry government-issued photo identification anyway, and if you are visiting Canada on a visa or eTA bring the documents you entered on.
It runs as a small group, which makes a long day considerably more pleasant than a full-size coach. Children generally love the boat and the tunnels. Bear in mind the finish is late and the return leg is a two-hour drive, so it is a stretch for very young children.
