Floral Clock at Niagara Falls in Ontario

If you’re looking for a unique experience while visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake, make sure you take the time to visit Niagara Parks’ iconic Floral Clock! Located along the scenic Niagara Parkway, this 40-foot-diameter clock face is truly a sight to behold.

Created with thousands of carpet bedding plants, the Floral Clock’s intricate designs are changed twice a year. Expert horticulturalists and students from the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture spend hours carefully planting and designing the clock face. This year, the plants included alternanthera, Santolina, and privet.

The clock isn’t just pretty it’s also functional! Inside the clock is a mechanism that is kept in working order by Ontario Power Generation. The tower at the back of the clock houses Westminster chimes that greet each quarter hour.

If you’re looking to take a photo of this unique clock, you’re in luck! Niagara Parks has designed an observation deck and a beautiful garden area with benches and a gazebo. You can take in the beauty of the clock while listening to soothing Westminster chimes.

Atop the floral clock is a tower with Westminster bells that sound out at fifteen-minute intervals. If the entrance to the tower is available during your time here, you can view the clockworks and look at pictures depicting almost every single design since 1950!

It’s no wonder the Floral Clock has become one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s most iconic landmarks. Whether you’re there to take photos or just to appreciate the beauty of nature, the Floral Clock is a must-see!
