Centennial Lilac Garden Niagara Falls

The Centennial Lilac Garden is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting or living in Ottawa. Located on a 10-acre area just to the north side of the Floral Clock, this collection contains over 1,200 plants with over 200 different varieties. Come out at this special time of year to experience the whole range of colors and gorgeous fragrances.

Created in 1967 to commemorate Canada’s Centennial Year, the American Rotary Clubs of District 709 contributed funds towards the development of this unique garden. Here, you will find over 535 trees of every colour and size, with an abundance of lilac blooms and a few other flowering trees. It is a great place to relax, enjoy some time in nature and wander among the blooms, with your camera in hand of course.

The Centennial Lilac Garden is a peaceful oasis, where you can take a leisurely walk and enjoy the sound of birds chirping and the warmth of the sun. It’s a great escape from modern life and a reminder of how beautiful and fragrant nature can be.

If you’re looking for a romantic spot for a wedding or special occasion, or simply want to relax and appreciate nature, the Centennial Lilac Garden should be at the top of your list. There are a couple of benches to sit on if you choose, but if you’re anything like me you’ll spend most of your time wandering around, taking in the delicious fragrance of lilacs and enjoying this short-lived pleasure that nature has gifted us.

The Centennial Lilac Garden is open to the public and free of charge, so don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the beauty of nature and the fragrant aromas of lilacs. Come out to enjoy this special time of year and experience the beauty and serenity of the Centennial Lilac Garden.
